Brunch Series #Tapas

This is the PeachyKeen Brunch Series, with all the information you'll need to have a great Brunch experience. This week i'm highlighting Tapas Bars/ small shareable plated Style restaurants in the area, serving some amazing authentic dishes! I highly recommend you secure a spot for brunch this weekend at one of the locations below.

Teddy and The Bully Bar

Held its position as my favorite brunch going on two summers now because of the vast amount of menu items they offer , hopefully you’ll get the hype when you visit! They do have a DJ on occasions, and it is such a huge venue so they welcome larger parties.

Location:  They are located near DuPont Circle at

1200 19th St NW, Washington, DC 20036

Hours: 10:30am – 3:00 pm Sunday

Menu: Bottomless Brunch is $48, It gets hard to try every dish on the menu but hang in there it’s worth it, plus they have a live omelette and waffle station. I’ve tasted everything on the menu and the must haves are the fish tacos (have you ever had fried salmon? Because I haven’t before this) and the kimchi fried rice! See menu Here

Drinks: They offer Bottomless Mimosas or Bloody Marys along with brunch, and they have a bloody mary station to add toppings.

* This restaurant is vegetarian friendly, and serve a lot of Non pork options.*

Boqueria

This is a Spanish Tapas Bar and restaurant, a really great option for a group of friends. They serve decent size portions depending on your party size and the food is unique and delicious, a lot of items I've tried for the first time. Reservation is not required but recommended, if not the bar is usually open for a group of 3 or less at a time.

Location: 1837 M Street, NW, Washington, DC 20036

Located in DuPont Circle (Literally in walking distance of Teddy and the Bully Bar) the new location in Penn quarters at  777 9th St NW, Washington, DC 20001.

Hours: 10:30am – 2:00pm Saturday & Sunday

Menu: Bottomless Brunch starts at $42. Just tell your waiter to bring one of everything the first go around, and “Thank me later”. I don’t know how to stress this enough… you have to try the ALBÓNDIGAS (Lamb Meatballs), and the crispy cauliflower, and the CHURROS CON CHOCOLATE, and almost everything else on the menu! Check it out Here

Drinks: Unlimited Classic Mimosas are served with the bottomless menu along with sangria, beer, and a signature drink, you even get free shots of Bloody Marys with one of the dishes!

* This restaurant is vegetarian friendly, and serve a lot of Non pork options. *

El Centro

A great Tex Mex Brunch Spot! They offer a bottomless brunch menu with an array of options, specializing in a lot of Mexican/ Breakfast infused dishes like bacon egg and cheese tacos that I’ve recently taken a liking to. You’ll definitely want to visit with friends and share everything on the menu.

Location: El Centro has 3 locations in DC, and only two of them are worth mentioning unless you happen to be taking a flight somewhere soon from Reagan International Airport.

One is located on 14th st near U st at

1819 14th St NW 20007, Washington, DC and the other location is in Georgetown at

1218 Wisconsin Ave NW Washington, DC

Both locations are quite spacious and offer a nice bar area to dine in as well.

Hours:10am - 4pm Saturday

10am - 5pm Sunday

Menu: Bottomless Brunch is $39, this menu is huge, with options ranging from Guacamole to Chorizo sliders, and Shrimp Ceviche. The Nachos and Churros are a must try on the menu! See menu Here

Drinks: They offer Bottomless Mimosas or Michelada, Bloody Maria, El Centro Margarita and or Choice of Seasonal Aqua Fresca Cocktails.

* This restaurant is vegetarian friendly, and serve a lot of Non pork options.*

Cava Mezze

No, this is not “Cava Cava” ! But the Cava Grill that we know so well is a sister restaurant to this location. Mezze Literally Means a style of dining in the Mediterranean and the Middle East, resembles a collection of Spanish tapas and other small plates meant to stimulate your appetite. So I recommend you dive into this exclusively crafted brunch.

Location: They have DC Location at Capitol Hill or “Eastern Market” as I know it at

527 8TH ST. SE

Hours: 10:00 am - 3:30 pm Saturday

10:00 am - 4:00 pm Sunday

Menu: Bottomless Brunch is $35 and includes many unique and tasty options with a lot of Lamb (best Meat option to me), so if you like Mediterranean cuisine make sure to check this brunch out. See menu Here

Drinks: They offer Mimosas for 25 cents each, which is basically Bottomless.

* This restaurant is vegetarian friendly, and serve a lot of Non pork options.*
